SKLEST hosts the International Conference on MULTIPHYSICS 2017

The yearly academic conference of SKLEST, i.e. the International conference on MULTPHYSICS, was successfully held on 2017 Dec 8-10. Prof. Fenglei Huang (deputy director of the Academic Committee of SKLEST), Prof. Changgen Feng (former vice chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology), Prof. Pengwan Chen (dean of the School of Mechatronical Engineering), Prof. Wei Wang (Secretary of Party Committee) and other national and international scholars attended the conference. Prof. Pengwan Chen delivered a welcome speech. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Cheng Wang, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology.

 

 

This conference is part of a series of conferences organized by SKLEST. The conference invited 24 well-known experts to present their recent works from both national and international institutions including Prof. Dana D. Dlott from the University of Illinois, Prof. Fernand DS Marquis from San Diego State University, Prof. Karl K. RINK from the University of Idaho, Prof. Gabi Ben-Dor from Ben Gurion University (Israel), Prof. Timon Rabczuk from Weimar University (Germany), Professor Jack J. Yoh from Seoul National University, Prof. KPJ Reddy form Indian Institute of Technology, Prof. Yuan Jianming from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore, Prof. Zhou Qing from Tsinghua University, Prof. Tang Chunan from Dalian University of Technology. These presentations focused on the latest research progress in the field of the design and application of energetic materials, the dynamic mechanical behavior of complex media and structures, the theory and technology of explosion safety, and the numerical simulation of explosion and impact issues in the world in recent years.

 

 

More than 120 scholars from China, the United States, Germany, Australia, Israel, Singapore, India, and South Korea participated the conference. After the conference, foreign scholars visited part the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology, and commented on the research conditions and several original results of the laboratory. The conference was supported by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department£¬Beijing Institute of Technology, the School of Mechatronical Engineering, the School of Aerospace, and the School of Materials.
